Saving the Ocean,

One Story at a Time

More than 5 trillion plastic pieces are floating in our oceans.

Approximately 700 species of marine animals have consumed or become entangled in plastic.

By 2050, there will be more plastic than fish in the ocean.

The ocean plays a critical role in our ecosystem and daily lives. It is our biggest carbon sink, absorbing the atmosphere’s excess carbon dioxide and producing up to 80% of the oxygen we breathe. Think of it this way: the ocean is our planet’s lung, and we’re causing it to gasp for air.

Ocean conservation is a serious matter, and we want to address it through the power of storytelling.

"Peering Into Our Future: A Series of Unfortunate Short Stories ” contains five unsettling short tales by prominent Singaporean authors who answer one pressing question: what will our future become if we fail to conserve our waters?

We hope these speculative fictional tales about a near-future dystopia will inspire you to think twice, act now, and advocate for change.
